It all started in 2018 with brothers Spike and Sam Szpek. The idea of a dynasty league was discussed for about a year before the Szpek Brothers finally decided to make it a reality. With the Mississippi River dividing them, the league name was inspired to honor the region we all cherish - Mississippi Valley Fantasy Football League.

Throughout the years, we have had our share of memorable moments, including the controversial "frozen ping pong" draft scandal and the recent move to the Sleeper app starting from the 2023 season. Alongside this transition, we also revamped our divisions from famous alleged murderers to Midwest nicknames, reflecting our love for the region - Dairyland, Twin Cities, and Windy City.

As we look forward to the 2024 season, we are introducing Bowl Games and officially renaming the championship game to the Great Lakes Classic, which became official during the 2023 game. The coveted trophy won at this championship is none other than the Paul Bunyan Fantasy Football Trophy, affectionately known as "The Bunyan".
